Making Decisions in the Face of Paradox

Mindfulness is a particular type of awareness. This awareness involves noticing what is unfolding in the present moment with intention, curiosity, and a beginner’s mind. By paying attention in this way, leaders develop greater wisdom, compassion, and problem-solving capabilities.

Organizations are brimming with competing demands, conflicting pressures, and, at times, even “paradoxical” situations. How leaders interpret and respond to these challenges can have immense personal and organizational impact.

In this workshop, participants will learn counterintuitive strategies for making mindful decisions and taking wise action when faced with complex problems. These include:

    • The power of (re)framing
    • How to leverage emotions for skillful problem-solving
    • When disengagement can be a good thing
    • The art of wise selfishness
